|Shakespeare's Presentation of Action in Act Three The point of Act three Scene one is to show the audience the political side of Antony and Cleopatra. All of the triumvirate are worried about their reputations and this short scene suggests that they are not that generous. Shakespeare makes Scene two seem comic because Enobarbus and Agrippa mock Lepidus and say that he is Caesar and Antony's 'beetle', 'They are his shards, and he their beetle'. The way in which Shakespeare has presents Enobarbus's and Agrippa's speech, allow the audience to have a bit more background information about the main characters from a completely different, unbiased point of view.|

Seeking Atonement in Crime and Punishment Raskolnikov, the protagonist of Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment was a complicated man who committed a crime. Raskolnikov murdered a woman who was a plague to mankind, especially the poor of Russia. In the chilling process however, he also murdered her younger sister, Lisaveta. To be purified, he drives himself through much agony. Not until the closing of the novel did he realize he must confess to be atoned and to find love. Consciously, Raskolnikov was averse to admitting his misdeed.
Civil Disobedience History, as Karl Marx suggest, is defined by human suffering. When a man is oppressed, his natural recours is rebellion. Most ost restiance movements of the past incorporated violenve. Violence has been a mean to an end for centurys. Even today our lives are chronicled through violence and human suffering. However, a paradox ensues when revolutionaries use violence to free themselves from oppression, as a mean to an end. By replacing violence with violence, you are only contuining a destructive cycle that can in no way liberate everybody.
Historically, societies have had a great deal of influence over the individuals making up their respective civilization. Every society, regardless of how autonomous their society allows their populous to be, directly and indirectly extends a level of control. Selfgoverning persons often think of themselves as immune to society’s invisible sway; and to varying degrees they are however, their core identity is ultimately shaped and molded by interacting with other members of humanity. When I hear a proverb such as “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” or “I’m the captain of my ship” it stirs feelings of sovereignty and freedom and the ability to whatever I want, whenever I want.
Hank Morgan, Willy Loman, and Henry David Thoreau, are all characterized versions of a capitalistic social order whose only difining characteristic is a debate over balanced mathmatical equations and how they relate to morality. That is, the characters and the context they are set in, embody common American ideals, and are tied together in terms of underlying themes and morality. For example, if Hank Morgan is "practical", "barren of sentiment", and able to "make anything a body wanted", then he is generally thought of as the typical selfreliant American dreamer who is proud of his selfsufficiency.
Drug testing is a very controversial issue in today society. It causes uproar from the students and the workers across America because they feel that it is an infringement of their rights. I believe that it is an infringement of a person’s right to be tested of drugs just out of the blue and without just cause. I also believe that a person should be tested if they injure themselves or cause an injury to someone else on the job because then the employer is not held accountable or responsible for the damage that the worker might have caused (PITTSBURGH POSTGAZETTE, FEB 12, 1995 pA1).
Life at Gateshead for Jane Eyre From the beginning of the novel we are told about Jane's isolation at Gateshead. She is an orphaned child after the death of her parents and is forced to live with her cruel hearted aunty who sees her as nothing but a poor beggar who should be grateful for her aunts hospitality. Our introduction to Jane and the Reed family begins with Jane's isolation in contrast to the Reed children's spoilt ways. She appears to be shut out in the cold from the rest of the family as they sit together by the fire and she sits beside the window looking out into the cold afternoon reading a book in which she observes 'The isolated rock in the stormy sea' perhaps reflecting her position and how she feels in the family.
Integrity Integrity is the basing of one's actions on an internally consistent framework of principles. Meaning, one who has integrity bases their actions on a moral code of honor, character, strength, and courage. These principles guide a character’s motive and cause, putting public image aside to lead a life chivalry and conviction. One example this is Willie Bodega of Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quiñonez. Although Willie’s means are shady, he strives for the betterment of Spanish Harlem through the improvement of abandoned and damaged apartments.
Lesson Plans for Educators I will be graduating with a Liberal Studies Major. I will hopefully be teaching in September but I have a dilemma, I am afraid of not having enough lessons to get me started. My other fear is not having fun lessons to teach. I work at an Elementary school now and there is a teacher that I work with that doesn't know the meaning of fun activities that can provide great knowledge from them. I will never forget my favorite teacher, Mr. Protho. He loved making our class a fun and exciting place to be.
The feudal system began to decline after the Black Death struck Europe in the late 1340’s. The feudal system joined politics and grouped together the social classes of that period. It began with the “relationship between two freemen (men who are not serfs), a lord and his vassal. Vassal derived from a Celtic word for servant, but in feudal terms vassal meant a free person who put himself under the protection of a lord and for whom he rendered loyal military aid.” This relationship was mutually beneficial at first, but throughout the development of the system, great restrictions were endured.
Combating Unemployment “Of all the aspects of social misery, nothing is as heartbreaking as unemployment.” (Addams 1910) Unemployment has long been a headache macroeconomic issue for all the governments around the world and is defined as people in working age but without job for the past four weeks according to International Labor Organization. In late 2009 the number of people unemployed or willing to work reached highest 8.2% since 1997. These increases are not start with the recession but since 2005, (Boardman 2010:105).
